2nd DUTH International Week 3-7 October 2022 Alexandroupolis, Greece

We warmly invite academic, administrative and other staff members from partner and non-partner universities to join our 2nd DUTH International Week, a five-day training programme that will be held in Alexandroupolis, Thrace, Greece, from 3 to 7 October, 2022.

As Universities in Europe and worldwide are striving to continue their international activities and enhance international cooperation and partnerships after a couple of years of physical mobility restrictions, due to the pandemic, we will be expecting our guests in an exciting environment, with a rich programme of visits, cultural events, and activities to refresh the motivation of participants in internationalisation.

The main purpose of the 2nd DUTH International Week is to strengthen as well as to widen the cooperation with partner Institutions, to facilitate networking and to promote the establishment of new collaborations.

Participants will be have the opportunity to to present their home universities and projects, to share good practices and to exchange ideas about fostering student and staff mobility while conducting training activities in topics of interest, such as the implementation of the new Erasmus+ programme, digital tools in Higher Education, inclusion and much more.

Academic and administrative staff will share a common programme, except for Wednesday 5 October when they will split to have different activities; for academic staff emphasis will be put on the development of pedagogical and curriculum design skills for HEIs.

Teaching/faculty staff will be given the chance to have group or individual meetings with international Faculty coordinators and/or academic staff at different Faculties in DUTH, to be organized on demand according their preferences.

The International Week will be held in: Alexandroupolis, Greece, from 3 to 7 October 2022. Half-day trips to our campuses in Komotini and Xanthi and visit some of DUTH Faculties have been planned.

There is no participation fee. We will cover cultural and social events and some meals costs, as specified in the programme.

Accommodation and travel cost should be covered by participants (it is recommended to use an Erasmus + grant provided by your home University). More information on accommodation can be found here.

In order to assure quality and effectiveness in all activities the maximum number of participants is 40 (15 from ICM and 25 from Erasmus+ programme countries)

The final registration deadline is September 5th 2022, however first round ends on Wednesday 24 August, and only if there are remaining spots new registrations will be accepted until 5 September:

Deadline for registration:

  • Wednesday 24 August 2022 (first round) 
  • Monday 5 September 2022 (if remaining spots)

The following criteria will be used to select the participants:

  • Geographical balance
  • Administrative staff and academic representatives’ proportionality
  • Gender balance

The 2nd DUTH International Week is eligible for Staff Training within Erasmus+, so participants will be asked to send us their Mobility Agreement - Staff Mobility for Training.
